Our Story:

Summit West Strategies grew out of years spent building systems, managing change, and figuring out how to make complicated work more manageable.

As a military spouse, Summit West founder Nicole Craig built a career across states, industries, and organizations—learning to adapt quickly, create structure, and keep things moving even when circumstances changed.

That became the foundation of Summit West: practical strategy, stronger systems, and support that helps small organizations work better without adding unnecessary bureaucracy.

Today, Summit West also draws on a small network of trusted consultants with complementary expertise, including nonprofit development and fundraising, as well as licensed clinical and social work experience supporting neurodivergent leaders and teams. That gives clients access to specialized support without the overhead of a large consulting firm or an internal team.

Nicole and her family eventually put down roots in Colorado, where she’d much rather be skiing, hiking, biking, or training than sitting behind a desk. That philosophy shapes Summit West, too: better systems and more efficient work should give people more time and energy for the people, places, and things they love.

Our Values:

We have values, and we aren’t coy about them. We believe good work should support a good life — not consume it. That means putting people ahead of profit, building workplaces that respect rest, caregiving, health, disability, autonomy, and the realities of being human, and creating systems that make work clearer, more sustainable, and more effective.

We believe people deserve dignity, access, safety, and the freedom to make decisions about their own lives. We value fairness, inclusion, environmental stewardship, and communities where people are treated with respect. We also believe better work comes from clarity, practicality, curiosity, creativity, collaboration, and processes that turn good intentions into something people can actually use.

We don’t expect everyone we work with to agree with us on everything. We do expect respect for other people, their rights, and their humanity.
